Merck Serono’s flagship headquarters in Geneva reflect our commitment to innovation. The complex includes three newly constructed buildings with glass facades and three fully renovated 19th-century industrial buildings. Over 1,200 people currently work in the offices and labs covering more than 40,000 square meters. A daycare center, several company restaurants and a fitness center are also part of the complex. Special attention has been paid to the eco-friendliness of the new facility. More than 70% of the energy used at the site is obtained from renewable resources and water from Lake Geneva is used for cooling.

Darmstadt is the headquarters of Merck KGaA, the umbrella for Merck’s operating activities. It is a key location for Merck Serono, with some 1,500 employees based here. Encompassing 1.2 square kilometers, the site is home to chemical and preclinical research, central process development and analytical services as well as units of clinical development. Employees also support the company’s business sectors or provide key services in areas like human resources, legal affairs and patents, technical and IT matters, purchasing and logistics, marketing and sales, as well as accounting and controlling.

The US headquarters of EMD Serono, Inc. are located in Rockland, Massachusetts, where the company has had a presence for more than 30 years. Today, EMD Serono’s Rockland location is home to fully integrated research, development and commercial operations.
