I didn’t plan a career in the pharmaceutical industry, but my college studies prepared me well for this job. Pyschology is all about understanding how and why people behave the way they do, and that helps me to identify individuals who want to be part of something bigger than themselves.
We want people who understand the value and importance of what we do at Merck Serono. That’s how we in Human Resources can make a contribution to the ultimate goals of the company. By hiring the best professionals, we can help our company develop the best drugs.
For me, ‘Living Science, Transforming Lives’ means that we are investing a lot of resources in R&D that will make a difference in the lives of patients.
I have friends who have been trying to have a baby for years, and finally succeeded with the help of our fertility treatments. Their joy as parents knows no bounds. I have worked with MS nurses who tell me what a difference a treatment like ours makes to the lives of their patients. And my own father has been able to control his diabetes with a Merck Serono product. My son recently told me that he is proud of where I work and what I do. I couldn’t have said it any better myself.
