Merck Serono’s R&D hub in Darmstadt, Germany, is also the location of Merck corporate headquarters – creating synergies between Merck Serono R&D and Merck Chemical Research functions such as analytical pharmaceutical development. This hub concentrates on development activities in the therapeutic areas of Endocrinology, Neurodegenerative Diseases and Oncology. Research efforts focus on Oncology and Rheumatology.
With more than 1,000 employees, Darmstadt is the largest R&D hub and a fully integrated site, representing 40% of Merck Serono R&D staff.
